The picture you can see above is an arena for “Bull fighting” or more popularly known as corrida de toros (literally running of bulls) or fiesta brava (the ferocious festival) in Spain. The tradition of bull-fighting was born in Spain & was brought to Mexico at the time of its colonization. It starts with the bull fighter or the torero executing various moves for distracting and angering the bull & ends with the killing of the bull with a well placed thrust of a sword. Supporters of bullfighting argue that it is a culturally important tradition, while animal rights groups argue that it is a blood sport because of the suffering of the bull and horses during the bullfight.

Last time I played before before this Friday, was back in 2004, in my 3rd year of college. Also, that was the first time I touched the cue. But this weekend, I played the game for around 8 hours, Friday and Saturday combined. Suddenly, I am in love with the game and have decided to put it into my “to-do-once-in-two-weeks” list.

Clicked this one with my N95 while others were busy “holing” the balls :)

One more from the sky diving trip. It was around 15 minutes after the plane took off carrying the divers when small parachutes started appearing high up in the air. You could see numerous colorful spots scattered all around against the deep blue canvas of the clear sky. Hardly after another 2 minutes you could actually identify those small spots as people hanging on to inflated parachutes. It was really exciting and “adrenaline-pumping” experience to see people descending from such an enormous height. they were floating down towards the earth like small colorful flakes of snow.

I took this photo just 10 seconds before this lady touched the ground.

I came a bit early from office today, it being the Christmas eve. Usually it is the Popocatepetl that catches my attention, but today it was the football field. There is this field at the back of the hotel, in the midst of almost ‘barren’ land covered with wild bushes and half constructed houses. Every Sunday or on a holiday you can see some local teams assemble for a match or two. I have always thought of walking down someday and having a closer look, but that didn’t happen till now.

Last Sunday they burnt all the tall grass and cleared up the surroundings. It looks much better than before and so I thought its time now to post it here :)

P.S – The full image looks much better than the one posted above. So please find time to click the link below :)
