“Fumar es causa de cancer” – Smoking causes cancer. Most of us have read this warning millions of times. On cigarette ads, cigarette boxes and in TV commercials. But still, many of us very calmly ignore this warning and continue enjoying our peaceful smoking. “It relieves you of stress and tension” is the most common comment smokers give in their defense.

Many of my friends smoke, being very well aware of the ill effects. But still, its only one life, we have the right to “enjoy” it fully. This post is dedicated to all my smoker friends and to all those who are joyfully enjoy smoking.

We were passing through a park on our way to a museum when we decided to have some photos sitting on these wooden benches put all over the place. I took some nice group photos before I started thinking how exactly the picture would look without people sitting on it.

It was then when I took a couple of shots of the empty bench and got this one. Getting the people out of the frame, specially when they think its a foolishness you are doing, believe me, is a tough thing to do :)

I was walking past a local city park when I saw this lamp hanging on a tree. Probably the lone of its kind in almost the entire park, it somehow attracted my attention and I decided to give it a shot. Though there was nothing special or nothing which really “stands out” in this particular photo, I somehow liked it very much. Maybe the inherent simplicity is what attracted me the most.

Though you cant see anything special in this image at the first glance but there are two things worth to be noted.
1. If you see the full sized view, you will actually see me lost inside the reflections coming over the buttons, standing with my camera.
2. If you noticed, there are pattern of dots etched out besides all the buttons. These patterns are nothing but the braille alphabets for the numbers. This is the first time I have seen a lift having these signs. Certainly, very wisely thought.

Its the season of “SALE” in Indian markets. Wherever you go, be it big shopping malls or your next door garment showrooms, you will find the big red sign of “SALE” hanging outside. Putting up a sale is really an innovative idea to fool the consumers and to sell things which, in the normal run, people won’t even notice. The concept is simple, overprice a $10 commodity to $30 and then give 50% “SALE”.

Man has created parallels for everything; giving up to his never ending needs. As I shot this from a moving train, I realized this “duality” for which even mother nature hasn’t been spared. The photo in a sense reflects a contrast between two sources of power; first being the never-lasting reservoir of energy, the Sun & the second being the man-made electric power source. Both are co-existing in this world in perfect harmony.

Nothing more than just an abstract thought of mine. I came back from office and was thinking about the image of the day when I saw the tray of eggs in the drawer. I decided to click something abstract. So I tried arranging the eggs here and there but nothing was fitting in well. Finally I came up with this, which in the end turned out to be quite nice.
